SFNC is delighted to have Tom German leading the way as senior coach again in 2024 after his first year in 2023. Tom was rookie listed by Essendon in 2008 & played 2 years at VFL level. He has been a dominant player & a perennial Top 3 in Best & Fairest over a 7 year period.
John played 200 games including 3 Grand Finals with Spotswood during a very successful era from 1984-1995. John had a pre-season at North Melbourne U19’s in their Premiership year of 1987, before returning to Spotswood to play senior football – Winning Reserves Best and Fairest in 1993. John captained Spotswood U17’s in 1986. He was also selected for Victorian School Boys U15’s team and retired in 1995 due to injuries.
Scott Harvey joined Spotswood in 1987. until 1995. Commenced coaching career elsewhere before rejoining Spotswood in 2022 as Reserves Assist Coach & senior men’s runner. In 2023, stepped into Senior Assist coach as well as Senior men’s Football Operations manager & these roles have continued in 2024 with the addition of co-coach the return of the our thirds team after a 29 year hiatus.
Dave Cassar joined SFNC in 1993, after playing from 1980 at other clubs. He played in back to back Premierships in Reserves team 2001-2002 & then retired. Spent 2 years on the Board during playing. His son Jed played 2013-2017 at SFNC. Been back at Spotty since 2021 runner for U18s, Assist coach Reserves & now Co-coach of Senior Mens 3rds.
Matt Dean coached Senior Mens Reserves in 2021, & previously coached the Club’s U18s Boys to back-to-back flags in 2014 & 2015. He successfully coached the WFNL U19 interleague representative teams from 2016 – 2019. Matt played the majority of his senior football for Spotswood. He is also coaching our Under 10’s this year.
Maddy Bosanko, is an inaugural member of Spotswood Netball Football Club since 2018 and has joined the coaching team after rupturing her ACL in the 2022 season.
Maddy was Head Coach at Newport Power Netball Club for several years, a representative coach at both Parkville and Altona Netball Associations for over 8 years.
Most recently Maddy has coached the City West Falcons 19’s to the U19’s Premiership in the State Victorian Netball League in 2022.
Maddison Viojo-Rainbow – Maddy is a returning player and was a member of the 2022 Division 1 premiership team.
Maddy has been a part of the Elmer Region coaching team during 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022.
Previously coached for Lightning Netball Club Juniors (U15, U17) and Seniors (Div 1 & Div 2) for many years.
Rocky has several years of coaching under his belt across at various age groups at clubs such as Lollipops Netball and Newport Power.
Rocky specializes in fundamentals and court structure coaching, Rocky will be an invaluable asset to the Spotswood netball coaching team.
Former junior coach at the Wyndhamvale Football Club and former Director of coaching at Spotswood.
Tony has had a long standing involvement with junior football via his position as a board member with WFNL junior board, and through his club involvement having had 4 boys play footy for at least the past 20 years.
As a commentator, broadcaster and news reporter on the game, Tony has developed an understanding and appreciation of the game which he hopes to pass onto our future senior players here at Spotswood.
Keith is an ex-WRFL player passionate about developing Girls and Women’s football. Over the past 6 years, Keith has been involved in coaching his daughter Ella in Girls Under 12, 14 and 16 Girls Football,
Keith is excited to be joining the Spotswood football club, taking up the opportunity to work with AFL legend Chris Grant & Ian Allan but more importantly, to continue to develop the under 18’s girls, many of whom he got to know last year when the girls from Spotswood and Yarraville Seddon Eagles came together to create a formidable team.
Daniel will be coaching the U16s. His 6th year of coaching junior football at Spotswood. Daniel was appointed U10s coach in 2019 & has been a volunteer at the Club since 2017. Daniel played 130+ games in the Victorian Amateur Football Association & coaches & plays cricket. He has two children at Spotty, Mitchell & Callum. Daniel’s better half, Denise is also involved at SFNC with game day roles “Coach Slatts” is super keen to have a Friday night game under lights at Spotty next season & is looking forward to the challenges that the new season brings.
Mark has played at local and country level football bringing a wealth of experience, knowledge and strategy to the junior female cohort. We believe it is important to practice and acknowledge the fundamentals, but also challenge young minds to reach their full potential, on and off the field. The playing group will be accountable to each other and show stewardship; we believe it’s the small things that deliver big results within our community.
Adam began his coaching journey with Spotswood Auskick in 2012. The past 10 years he’s led teams in various age groups with premierships in the Under 11’s (2018) and Under 12’s (2022). As junior coaching coordinator, Adam developed a charter to guide junior coaches at Spotswood.
His three children have all played football at Spotswood, with his two boys still actively playing.
Adam’s coaching philosophy is simple and flexible, emphasizing fun, involvement, and improvement.

Andrew will be coaching the Under 12s. His 6th year of coaching junior football at Spotswood. After being heavily involved as a volunteer with the Spotswood Auskick program Andrew was appointed U8s coach in 2020.
Andrew played 100+ games in the Northern Football Netball League and 2 seasons in the Green and Gold at Spotswood. He has two children at Spotty, Spencer and Harrison
Glenn will be coaching the Under 12s. His 5th year of coaching junior football at Spotswood.
Glenn is extremely sports minded and operates a successful sports marketing agency, that assists government bodies and sports organisations with strategies in the community sports and recreation sector.

Matt will be coaching the U10’s this season. This is Matt’s 4th year of junior coaching, having started with this group when they were under 8’s. He also coached Senior Mens Reserves in 2021, and previously coached the Club’s U18s Boys to back-to-back flags in 2014 and 2015. He successfully coached the WFNL U19 interleague representative teams from 2016 – 2019. Matt played the majority of his senior football for Spotswood.
Aidan is making is coaching debut with Spotswood U8’s in season 2024. For the past three seasons Aidan has been heavily involved with the Spotswood Auskick program as a coach and coordinator.
Aidan is passionate about participation and enjoyment in kids sport and is keen to help the kids get the most out of their first foray into competitive footy by building a supportive and fun culture that helps kids to learn and enjoy all aspects of a game of football. Aidan is excited to help support the continued growth of Spotswood Football Netball Club by positively contributing to a strong junior program.
Aidan’s son Percy will be playing his first season of footy in the U8’s this year!
